A week ago, I had the privilege of taking wedding photos for Shannon and Kelly at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. I don’t usually do weddings, but circumstances made this an exception, and I really enjoyed the experience. I’ve been to my share of weddings in my life, but this is only the second time I’ve done it as the photographer, and it really gives one a unique vantage point for the day.
Going to a wedding, you usually pay attention to the bride, groom, and to the wedding vows and such. I viewed this wedding through the lens of my camera. I didn’t pay much attention to what was being said, rather I saw people’s faces and emotions through my viewfinder. It’s a different kind of experience when your hearing “blurs” and you just watch. Watch for that look of joy on the bride’s face. Watch for the eyes and face to relax once the groom knows the ‘hard part’ of the day is over. Watch for the look of love in the father’s eyes as he watches his daughter marrying a man she loves.
It was a cool experience.
